Cosmetic Surgery: Focused on Enhancing Appearance. The procedures, techniques, and principles of cosmetic surgery focus entirely on enhancing a patient’s appearance. Improving aesthetic appeal, symmetry, and proportion are the key goals. Aesthetic surgery can be performed on all areas of the head, neck, and body. Since cosmetic procedures treat areas that function correctly, cosmetic surgery is designated as elective. Cosmetic elective procedures are performed by doctors from a variety of medical fields, including plastic surgeons.

Skin Moles Treatment

Most moles appear on the surface during childhood and adolescence. Moles will grow as the child (or teen) grows. Some moles will darken, and others will lighten. These changes are expected and seldom a sign of melanoma, the most severe skin cancer. Here are three facts that can help you find melanoma soon and get treatment. If you see a mole or other spot that is growing, itching, bleeding, or changing in any way, at once, make an appointment to see a dermatologist. Most moles do not require treatment. A dermatologist will remove a mole that: is bothersome (rubs against clothing, etc.), unattractive to a patient, and suspicious (could be skin cancer). After a mole is removed, the skin will heal. If the mole grows back, at once, make another appointment to see your dermatologist. The recurrence of a mole could be a sign of melanoma, the most severe type of skin cancer.

Skin Micro-needling and Micro-injection Rejuvenation

The basis of microneedling (MN) relies on physical injury. Microinjections and microneedling are successful in skin rejuvenation, hair loss, and scars therapy. It has been proposed that the trauma generated by needle penetration in the skin induces dermis regeneration. This results in the deposition of collagen by fibroblasts. The technique of microneedling has been well-exploited to increase the penetration of drugs across the skin barrier, including macromolecular biopharmaceuticals and drugs such as minoxidil, tretinoin, and L-ascorbic acid, vitamins, and hyaluronic acid (Mesolift), platelets rich plasma (PRP), and nanofat (vampire facelift) and even botulinum toxin microinjection (mesobotox) into the deep layer of skin and subcutaneous tissue.

Spider and Varicose Veins Removal

Not all patients need treatment for their varicose veins or spider veins. Many people have no pain or other symptoms. For these individuals, no treatment is necessary unless they want the veins removed for cosmetic reasons. There are many different treatments available for varicose veins. These treatments vary based upon the size and location of the varicose veins, the presence of symptoms, or complications. Sclerotherapy, laser and intense-pulsed-light therapy, radiofrequency (RF) or laser ablation, and ambulatory phlebectomy are the modern techniques used to ablate varicosities. Numerous reports describe greater than 90% success rates for more minor invasive procedures associated with fewer complications with comparable efficacy. The selection of the correct sclerosant and the exact volume and concentration of sclerosant depends on the type and location of disease, internal amount of the vessel to be treated, positioning of the patient, and many other factors. I should always use the minimum effective concentration and volume because sclerosant inevitably passes into the deep venous system, where endothelial injury can lead to disastrous consequences. Now here's the bad news. Are you wearing a support hose? yes, we're talking; the dreaded pantyhose is recommended for anyone with visible veins or for people who have had a procedure done. "Wear them every waking hour," says Prof Moawad.

Skin Scars Treatment or Revision

The improvement of scars of either cosmetic or functional impairment is the goal of scars revision. Cutaneous scars are results of earlier surgery trauma, or inflammatory processes, e.g., acne. The injury may be cosmetically distressing or may distort functional anatomy. Thus, the aim of scar revision is the achievement of an aesthetically pleasing or less visible scar. Scars can be categorized by various descriptive characteristics, including contour, shape, length, width, color, and function. Recognition and analysis of these unique characteristics, along with the scars’ location and place, will aid in determining the proper technique or combination of procedures in revising a given scar. Numerous revision procedures are available to correct the various types of injuries. No one treatment or procedure is effective in correcting all types of scars. Therefore, knowledge, understanding, and experience in using various techniques are vital to do acceptable results.

Body Odor Treatment

The condition can be known medically as bromhidrosis, osmidrosis, fetid sweat, body smell, or malodorous sweating. Humans have two types of sweat glands: eccrine sweat glands and apocrine sweat glands. Eccrine sweat glands are present from birth, while the apocrine glands become activated during puberty.  The body odor primarily results from the apocrine sweat glands, which secrete most chemical compounds needed for the skin flora to metabolize it into odorant substances. Body odor is most likely to occur in the following places: feet, groin, armpits, genitalia, pubic hair and other hair, belly button, anus, behind the ears, and the rest of the skin, to a lesser extent. Body odor is usually accompanied by excessive sweating and managed in the same manner. Botox is injected intradermally to treat hyperhidrosis and inhibits the release of acetylcholine at the neuromuscular junction and from the sympathetic nerves that innervate eccrine sweat glands. A new bipolar radiofrequency device can destroy the eccrine glands by thermolysis at the deep dermis and subcutis interface. When medical treatment fails, ultrasound and power-assisted liposuction of armpits can gently remove both eccrine and apocrine sweat glands.

Mommy Makeover. Are You Ready?

Pregnancy can leave lasting—and often unwanted—effects on your appearance, such as sagging breasts, stretched abdominal muscles, and loose, excess skin. Many women are discouraged when their breasts and body do not return to their pre-pregnancy shape, even with a healthy diet and exercise. By addressing unwanted changes of pregnancy and restoring the appearance you want, a mommy makeover can help you feel more like yourself, improving your comfort and self-confidence. A “mommy makeover” is the collective term for a personalized set of cosmetic procedures designed to help a woman address common effects of childbearing and aging on the face, breasts, and body and restore or improve upon her pre-pregnancy appearance. Mommy makeovers can include cosmetic surgery, non-surgical treatments, or a combination of both. Determining the right time for a mommy makeover is mostly a personal decision between you and your cosmetic surgeon. Typically, it is best to wait until you are finished having children before undergoing surgical “lifting” procedures, such as tummy tuck, breast lift, or lower body lift surgery; if you plan to become pregnant again in the future, non-surgical body contouring and skin treatments can be cost-effective options for interim procedures.

Men Cosmetic Surgery. The Difference

The world places a high value on looking young and fit, that is why cosmetic surgery is up, and men are a big part of the increase. Today, more men are having cosmetic surgery to help them look younger and more attractive. Like their female counterparts, they have discovered the benefits of cosmetic surgery personally and professionally. Men seem to be changing their attitude about several previously reserved issues for women. The need to look youthful and dynamic, well into your 40s, 50s, and 60s, has led to men rethinking their attitudes to pills, diet, exercise, face-care products, and cosmetic surgery. In a society that values youth, 50-year-old executives compete with younger, fitter, and more competitive 30-year-olds, who are often willing to work harder, and for less money. On the home front, men also find they want to keep pace with younger-looking wives.

Vampire Skin Rejuvenation

People want to look better with as little as possible downtime. Although a quick fix is not possible for severe wrinkles, newer treatment options such as fractional lasers and fractional radiofrequency are available to slow down the aging aspects that affect the face, neck, décolleté, and the back of the hands. Vampire Facelift is a name for a non-surgical cosmetic procedure involving the injection of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) derived from a patient's blood back into multiple areas of the skin of their face to treat wrinkles and "rejuvenate" the face. Platelets have essential growth factors that, when secreted, handle tissue regeneration and rejuvenation, increase collagen production, recruit other cells to the injury site, induce cell differentiation, and extracellular matrix formation. It has an anti-inflammatory effect that will speed up healing time and ease recovery time after resurfacing procedure. In a new approach, Prof uses fractional ablative lasers to overcome the epidermal barrier and increase topical agents' penetration as laser-assisted drug delivery (LADD). Prof Moawad offers his patients a full-face fractional CO2 laser or fractional radiofrequency (FRF) to make tiny holes into the skin to overcome the stratum corneum to enhance PRP and nanofat. The results are doubles. You will enjoy the rejuvenating effect of fractional skin resurfacing systems and the regenerative effect of growth factors and stem cells present in PRP and nanofat.

Hand and Feet Rejuvenation. My Way

The best treatment approach begins in the office with a program that attends to all the significant issues in the epidermis and dermis and continues with an at-home regimen to keep up and expand these results. Chemical peels have always been the least expensive treatment modality and are classified as superficial, medium, or profound. They are used primarily to discuss mild pigmentary alterations such as lentigines or age spots or with laser devices whose target chromophore is melanin. In general, an IPL device is usually the first choice because it will normalize the pigment of the entire dorsal surface of the hand. Treatment with fractionated devices is a more aggressive approach to rejuvenating the epidermis—one that could more significantly improve the skin's overall texture. Newly prominent age- and UV-related vessels, tendons, and bones can be addressed through re-volumization. By plumping the hands, I can achieve tissue laxity and a reduction of vascular and bony prominences. Several different filters, including autologous fat injections, can be safely used in the hands. Vein removal is often found to be unnecessary after volume restoration. However, if bulging or prominent veins stay a cosmetic problem, they can be treated with sclerotherapy or laser removal. A multi-modal approach to hand rejuvenation obtains the best results.

Skin Rejuvenation PRP Injections

Although platelets rich plasma (PRP) microinjection is new in aesthetics, PRP has been recognized as an effective treatment in sports injury, diabetic ulcer treatment, and orthopedics, to name a few. Platelets have essential growth factors that, when secreted, handle tissue regeneration and rejuvenation, increase collagen production, recruit other cells to the site of injury, induce cell differentiation, and extracellular matrix formation. It has an anti-inflammatory effect that will speed up healing time and ease recovery time after resurfacing procedure.
